Do you wonder who is responsible for delivery of your local services?
Do you wonder how to local development will take place in your area over the next 20 years?
Do you have concerns about what the transfer of schools to academies will mean for you and your family?
Over the next twelve months residents of Blaby district will have the chance to find out more about the delivery of services that affect them. There are nine Community Forums scheduled for local residents, just like you, looking for information, advice and answers from local councils, the police and the NHS. Community Forums are open meetings, and run from 7pm – 9pm.
The first round of Community Forums for the district this year are taking place in March of 2012, and topics for discussion include how a fund of £40,000 could benefit Blaby Community Projects and Groups, and there will be opportunity to be involved in how the District of Blaby will grow and change up to 2026.
If there is an issue that is affecting your community, we want to hear from you …if you would like more information on the delivery of your local services, from bin collection, to planning developments, from winter gritting to access to a local GP, the Community Forum is the place to be, because the agenda is set by you, local residents. If you feel strongly about your local area, we want to hear from you!
Local Community Forum Chair, and local resident, Mike Lee says:
“It is no use moaning over the loss of services, we have all got to take responsibility for supporting our own communities, otherwise we will all lose much of which we hold dear as part of our communities’ quality of life. It is really important that people come to their local Community Forum and learn about what is happening, make their input into the process and understand what and how they can do to protect the future.”
You can participate in these interactive discussion sessions by attending your local Community Forum. Your views will be critical in developing future policies and proposals.
