Village road closures update

Posted on January 24, 2014February 6, 2014 by staff

road closed signLeicestershire County Council has granted the temporary closure of Shortridge Lane, King Street, and Cooperation Street.

Originally, the roads were to be closed on the 10th February 2014 for up to 3 days. This date has now been moved back because of the recent weather. (see below)

The orders are required to enable Leicestershire County Council Highways to safely carry out carriageway maintenance works.

Cornwall Street and Rawson Street will have a ‘no waiting at anytime’ Order in place and the one-way Order will be suspended to allow for residents to access their properties.

During the closure the alternative route will be via:-
Blaby Road, Leicester Road, King Edward Avenue, Desford Road,
Forest Road, Stewart Avenue, West Street, and vice versa.
