This Easter, Enderby Twinning Association are visiting the twin town of Le Haillan, France, marking the 25th anniversary of the signng of the Twinning Charter.
Members of the Association visit France every two years, and in return receive their French friends into their Enderby homes and arranging an interesting programme of events for them in the other year.
This year’s trip to France will see Twinning Association members presenting their French counterparts with a number of locally crafted glass wine stoppers, designed and manufactured by local freelance jeweler Diana East in her workshop – ‘Sudio 21’ – located in the Old Dairy, George Street, Enderby.
Another local firm, Pollard Boxes Limited of Feldspar Close, Enderby, is assisting in the transportation of the glass items.
Diana East has worked as a freelance jeweler, designer and maker for more than 20yrs. She holds workshops in her studio and has taught her craft in Switzerland, Germany and the U.S.
Anyone interested in joining the Twinning Association, to entertain and visit French people and learn about their culture, can come along to one of the Association’s meetings or social events.
Anyone wishing to join the Association will be made very welcome.
You don’t have to speak French (though it helps!); having an open mind and willing to try new things is more important.
