Temporary road closure at level crossing, Station Road, Narborough

Narborough Level CrossingThe County Council has agreed to closure of the level crossing on Station Road in Narborough.

The road will be closed overnight between 23.00 hours and 06.00 hours on the 23rd May 2016.

The closure will safely allow Network Rail to carry out maintenance at the level crossing.

During the closure the alternative route will be :-
Coventry Road, Desford Road,
King Edward Avenue, Narborough;

Leicester Road, Blaby Road, Enderby Road, Whetstone;
The Blaby By Pass, Blaby;

Grove Road, Brook Street, The Dicken, Warwick Road, Whetstone;

Riverside Way, Littlethorpe,
and vice versa.

Station Road, Narborough: Road closure on 6th October

road closedLeicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to the closure of Station Road, Narborough.

The closure is required at the level crossing.

The road will be closed between 00.01hrs and 05.00hrs on the 6th October 2014.

This will allow Network Rail to safely carry out tests to the level crossing.

During the closure the alternative route will be via : Coventry Road,
Desford Road, King Edward Avenue, Narborough; Leicester Road, Blaby
Road, Enderby Road, Whetstone; The Blaby By Pass, Blaby; Grove
Road, Brook Street, The Dicken, Warwick Road, Whetstone; Riverside
Way, Littlethorpe, and vice versa.

Appeal for witnesses following road collision in Countesthorpe

collision investigation vanPolice are appealing for witnesses after a man was run over on Station Road, Countesthorpe.

The incident happened on Wednesday August 8 at around 10.30am.

The victim was crossing the road when a parked car rolled back knocking him to the ground before rolling over him.

The victim was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries and kept in overnight.

PC 1375 Chris Wood said:

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident between the vehicle and the pedestrian who was not spoken to police officers at the scene to come forward.”
