South African Shaun Wormington joins Enderby Cricket Club for 2016 season

Shaun WormingtonEnderby CC are delighted to announce the signing of South African Shaun Wormington as their new overseas player for the 2016 season.

In a news item on the Cricket Club’s website, Andy Moore writes:

Shaun comes highly recommended from former overseas star Pienaar Buys who coaches the all-rounder at  in KwaZulu-Natal.

The 19 year old will join up with his new teammates in April and will look to have the same impact as previous overseas players and push the club into the Premier League.

Club Captain Steve Coulson said

“I am delighted to welcome Shaun to the club and he comes across with the endorsement of Pienaar and we hope he can have the same impact.

“Though still a youngster, he has accolade’s that put many of us to shame and we look forward to learning from him too and he will no doubt have an excellent impact on the younger members of our club.”

As mentioned above, Shaun comes to Leicestershire with an impressive cricket CV and below are some of the achievements so far.

We look forward to an exciting 2016 season and push to the Premier League.

South African Kruger coin stolen during a burglary in Thorpe Astley

police carOfficers from Blaby local policing unit are appealing for information after a number of items were stolen during a burglary in Thorpe Astley.

The incident took place sometime between 10.30am and 6.30pm on Monday October 28 in the Murby Way area of Thorpe Astley, a house was broken into and a number of distinctive items were stolen including a South African Kruger coin in a gold chain which looks like a medallion.

Other items included a Seiko diving watch which has a round black face, roman numerals, and a black strap, a Guillaume Swiss Titanium brushed silver watch, a white Apple Classic iPod, Euros and various European currency notes including Bulgarian, Russian, American and Hungarian coins, a silver Nikon camera DS100 DSLR with lenses and a gold charm bracelet with various charms on it.

PC Hardip Kaur is investigating the incident, she said:

“There were a number of items stolen during the incident and some of them are quite distinctive, if you have come across anyone selling the items or you know someone who has recently acquired similar items please contact us.”
