Popular Jobs Fair returns

Skills FairWith the chance to find employment and training opportunities for people of all ages, the Fosse Park Jobs and Skills fair returns on Wednesday 24 May.

Organised by Blaby District Council, the fair takes place from 10:30am-2pm on the mezzanine level of the Food Court at Fosse Park. The popular event brings together local employers and support services under one roof.

Over 350 people attended last year’s event with 32 businesses present. The Council has worked with Jobcentre Plus and Fosse Shopping Park to offer the fair for the eighth year in a row. Practical help and advice will be on offer for job seekers, and organised workshops for anyone looking to improve their future development.

Cat Hartley, Group Manager for Planning and Economic Development, said:

“We’re delighted to have worked with Jobcentre Plus and Fosse Park to offer the Jobs Fair once again. This is a great event for jobseekers to meet local employers and find out more about opportunities in the district.

“We also encourage our local businesses to reserve a place and take advantage of a unique opportunity to meet hundreds of eager people.”

This event is FREE to attend with pre-registration open from Friday 12 May via www.blaby.gov.uk/jobsfair2017.

Over 400 jobseekers turned out to last year’s event, so the Jobs and Skills Fair is returning to Fosse Park on Wednesday 2nd September.

The free event will run on the mezzanine floor above the Food Court in Fosse Park from 11am until 3pm and sets to bring together local employers, job-seekers and support services all under one roof to help local unemployed people into work or training.

“Local businesses are encouraged to reserve a place at the event to reap the benefits of extensive event marketing and promotion, a prime location with a high footfall and local networking opportunities.

Jobs Fairs are an excellent opportunity to meet your prospective employees in person as well as being a low-cost solution to your recruitment problems.”

Blaby District Council, working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council and Job Centre Plus are organising the event hosted by Fosse Park.
