Members of the Enderby Band played to a packed audience for their annual Christmas Concert at Enderby Parish Church.
The two-part concert on Monday 19th December saw the Band, under the baton of their Musical Director Simon Gresswell, invite the audience to participate in a number of popular Christmas carols.
Apart from Christmas carols, the evening’s programme also contained numbers from West End musicals including ‘Anthem’ from the musical Chess (Anderson, Rice & Ulvaneus arr, A. Duncan).
The audience were also treated to guest solo performances by Lucy Cutt on flugel horn – ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’ (G Langford) and ‘Away in a Manger’ (P.Graham).
Also making a guest appearance was accomplished and experienced soprano Sarah Stephens who wowed the audience with ‘Think of Me’ from Phantom of the Opera (A Lloyd Webber) and ‘O Holy Night’ (A. Adam arr. K.Wilkinson).
A 30-prize raffle was drawn on the evening and refreshments were available during the interval.
After the final piece, the popular ‘Troika’ (S. Pokofieff arr. R Farr) left everyone tapping their feet, upbeat and reluctant to allow the band to finish without an encore!
The band duly obliged and the audience showed their appreciation with loud applause.
