People in Blaby district are being urged to explore their local parks, open spaces and nature trails on foot as part of Leicestershire Walking Week from June 4 – 12.
Active Together Blaby are leading a walk from Glenhills Library in Glen Parva from 10am on June 9 which will follow the Great Central Way and Grand Union Canal through local countryside.
The walk will take between 60 to 90 minutes and is free to enter, with a 50p donation for refreshments.
Alex Brown, physical activity development officer at Blaby District Council said:
“People are often unaware of the fantastic places to take a stroll in Blaby and across Leicestershire so this offers a great chance to get out and discover local routes while getting some fresh spring air.”
Walking Week has been organised by Leicestershire County Council with support from Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport, Active Together and the city, district and borough councils.
