Organised by five-a-side football regulars at the Pavilion, Huncote Tuesday Knights, the event took place during the last weekend in September, aiming to play a continuous 24 hour game of five-a-side from 5pm on Friday to 5pm Saturday.
The team, which has been in existence for 23 years, were raising the cash for Leicester Hospitals Charity Fund (Oncology) and Motor Neurone Disease Association (Leicestershire) after two long-standing members of the team were diagnosed with serious medical conditions.
Two Leicester City players, Croatian striker Andrej Kramari? and Swiss midfield star Gokhan Inler also made an appearance to offer support to the effort and donated a shirt to be auctioned off for the fundraising effort.
Huncote Tuesday Knights use The Pavilion’s 3G pitches, which are available to hire for £36 per hour, Mon-Fri from 9am-9pm and Sat-Sun 9am -4pm. For more information, visit www.blaby.gov.uk/pavilion.
