New Lubbesthorpe

Second phase of Lubbesthorpe consultation ends soon

Posted on July 13, 2012 by staff

New LubbesthorpeA second public consultation on plans for a major new housing development in Lubbesthorpe will end on July 25.

The plans for 4,250 homes, shops, schools, community facilities, public open space, two motorway bridges (across the M1 and M69) and 21 hectares of employment land were first submitted in February 2011 by Hallam Land Management, Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Davidson Developments.

Several changes have been made to the original plans including revised locations for the district centre, one of the local centres and one of the primary schools. Designs for the bridges across the M1 and M69 have also been amended. New proposals for an additional 4,600 sq metre employment site are also included in the revised plans.

New and updated documents have also been submitted by the applicants providing information on traffic, transport and air quality.

More than 8,000 letters have been sent to people living in parts of Enderby, Kirby Muxloe, Braunstone Town and Leicester Forest East and all residents in Thorpe Astley and Lubbesthorpe, explaining where they can view the revised planning application and how to comment.
The revised plans are available to view online at www.blaby.gov.uk/lubbesthorpe and in libraries and parish council offices in the following locations:
• Enderby
• Leicester Forest East
• Braunstone Town
• Kirby Muxloe

Copies are also available to view at Blaby District Council’s main offices in Narborough and Glenfield Library.

Comments can be made online at www.blaby.gov.uk/lubbesthorpe, by email to lubbesthorpe@blaby.gov.uk or in writing to the Lubbesthorpe Planning Application Team at Blaby District Council.
