Youngsters and adults alike turn out to wave to Santa as he cycled around Enderby this evening (Saturday 12th December).
Facebook group “Santa and friends ride around” invited folk in Enderby and other areas in the district to turn out and wave to Santa as he cycled by. Other areas scheduled for a visit were Blaby, Ratby/Groby and Braunston Town.
Although originally scheduled for Sunday 13th December, the ride around Blaby was brought forward to Saturday due to a bad weather being forecast for the following day. Instead the Blaby ‘ride’ commenced at 6pm on Saturday.
On Facebook, Lee Boyall-Love wrote to organiser Neil SquealieArt “Thank you so much for doing that” and Martina Naughton wrote: “Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Santa, Rudolph and his elf riding through Enderby. Thank you so much for bringing a smile to our faces.”
Santa and friends were out on their bikes burning off a few calories before eating all those mince pies! COVID-19 has prevented many visits to Santa and so Santa’s Ride Around enabled little ones to wave from the comfort and safety of their homes or from the pavement socially distanced.
