Rise and shine with the dawn chorus walk

Posted on May 9, 2013May 9, 2013 by staff

fosse meadows2Early risers can make the most of their Saturday morning by getting to know the many birds of Fosse Meadows and their songs during a dawn chorus walk.

Meeting at 4.45am one of the park’s long standing volunteer rangers David Mitchell will guide people on a two hour leisurely walk around the nature reserve.

Mr. Mitchell said:

“This is a great chance to get to know the many birds and their songs at this magical hour and at this special time of year.”

The Fosse Meadows site, near Sharnford, has extensive paths through flower meadows and woodlands.

It is a good area for bird spotting, with a wildlife lake and bird hide.

The walk is open to anyone who is reasonably mobile, booking is not necessary and it is free of charge.

Simply meet at Fosse Meadows car park at 4.45am on Saturday May 11.
