Rise and shine with business breakfast event

Posted on August 8, 2014 by staff

Grove Park Tower SculptureLocal businesses are invited to attend a free breakfast meeting in September to share ideas for boosting the local economy, and hear about the latest funding opportunities and business news from Blaby District Council and partner organisations.

Blaby District Council is hosting the “Blaby District Means Business” event on Tuesday 30 September at its main offices on Desford Road in Narborough.

The meeting starts at 7.30am with the promise of a free tasty breakfast on arrival followed by a brief speaker programme with topics on funding for local small to medium sized firms, free social media programme from PERA Training to help grow your business plus an update on local support from the Federation of Small Business.

Councillor Tony Greenwood, portfolio holder for Planning, Economic Development and Housing Strategy at Blaby District Council, said:

“The Council is running these events for the benefit of local businesses. A range of government grants are available to help create jobs and generate growth. The timeframe for applying is running out and we want Blaby businesses to benefit before the window closes in March 2015.

“Small to medium sized enterprises are encouraged to attend to hear how to access these grants as well as discover the wider range of support which is available.”

The programme includes speakers from PERA Training and the Federation of Small Business, plus the chance to network with local business people.

Places are limited so book early to reserve your place by contacting Tom McGowan, Economic Development Officer at Blaby District Council on 0116 272 7765 or email economicdevelopment@blaby.gov.uk
