LFE Residents Action Group will host two public events…

Posted on June 21, 2012June 21, 2012 by staff

The second consultation period for Lubbesthorpe New Town (4,250 houses) is well underway. The consultation period has also been extended to 25th July 2012.

At a Public Meeting called by Enderby Parish Council held in Enderby’s Civic Centre on Wednesday 20th June, the Leicester Forest East Residents Action Group (LFE-RAG) announced they are holding two public events on 25th and 26th June (details below) and urged all interested parties to write letters of objection and forward them to their Parish and District Councils as well as the Highways Agency.

A news/mailshot from the LFE group said:

LEAFLETS AND OBJECTION LETTERS

A leaflet drop has been completed to all 2,500 homes in Leicester Forest East. Unfortunately due to financial restraints and a lack of man power we were unable to deliver to the amount of houses we delivered to last time. If you didn’t receive a leaflet and the pro-forma contained within, a copies are available from the RAG website at www.lfe-rag.blogspot.com.

It is very important that EACH INDIVIDUAL MEMBER OF THE HOUSE MUST WRITE THEIR OWN OBJECTION. One proforma with three signatures is only 1 objection. We need numbers! If you have already filled in and posted a joint objection you can still write your own.

Any completed proformas or other objection letters can be given into Hayre Newsagent on Hinckley Road (formerly N. Sandhu – opposite Post Office); Cherrytree Gifts, Cherrytree Drive; or the letter box of 77 Kings Drive, Leicester Forest East. At each address is a secure ‘ballot box’ in which the objections are stored before collected by us and delivered to Blaby District Council. In the alternative you can post it to Lubbesthorpe Development Team, Blaby District Council, Narborough, Leicester, LE19 2EP.

PUBLIC EVENTS

We are holding two public events. At these events you can meet the RAG and look at the development documents. We are holding these events because Blaby District Council are not. The events are designed to let you know how to object and what to write in your objection letters. Everyone is invited.

Monday 25th June 2012 between 6pm and 9pm
Tuesday 26th June 2012 between 6pm and 9pm

Parish Hall, Kings Drive, Leicester Forest East, LE3 3JD

ABOUT LFE RAG

We are a group of local residents who are bound together for the common purpose of establishing formal and professional opposition to the development of land in Lubbesthorpe. We have rules identifying how the organisation is run and how its funds are vested. The group recognises the importance of the wider local community and how they can play a part in opposing this development.

We strive to assist and inform the local community about the planning application and how the planning process works.
