Recycling of Christmas Trees

Blaby District Council have published arrangements for the recycling of Christmas trees following the festive period.

Christmas tree recycling points will be available at the following sites from Wednesday 26th December 2019 to Sunday 6th January 2019.

Residents may bring along their old Christmas trees to these locations between the above dates or put the tree with the bins on the first garden waste collection day in January 2019.

  • Enderby – Leisure Centre Car Park, Mill Lane.
  • Countesthorpe – Co-op Supermarket car park, Main Street.
  • Elmesthorpe – Village Hall car park, Wilkinson Lane.
  • Glenfield – Stamford Street car park.
  • Glen Parva – Playing field car park, Dorothy Avenue.
  • Huncote – The Pavilion car park, Sportsfield Lane
  • Narborough – Narborough Park car park, Desford Road
  • Stoney Stanton – War Memorial Playing Fields car park, Carey Hill Road.
  • Thorpe Astley – Aldi supermarket car park, Meridian Way.

Do…

✔ Recycle gift wrap
✔ Recycle cards
✔ Recycle and squash clean food packaging

Dont…

× Put fairy lights and decorations in the recycling bin (request the MIND bag for unwanted lights).
× Put unwanted gifts and toys in the recycling bin – take to a local charity shop so other people may benefit.
× Put old clothes in the recycle bin – request a collection at www.blaby.gov.uk/mind
