Several teams and their supporters braved an icy cold evening and turned up for a ‘Quiz and Curry’ evening last Saturday (11th February).

The event was staged by Enderby Social Club on Coleridge Drive, Enderby and teams paid £5 to take part (inc. food). Proceeds were in aid of the Enderby Fete which is due to be held on Mill Lane, Enderby on Saturday, July 21st this year.

Teams answered questions during four rounds under the headings of Sport, Entertainment, Food and Drink and People and Places.

Apart from the main four rounds, there was also a ‘picture round’ where teams could gain points by correctly identifying photos of actors in roles from a number of films or plays featuring the novels of Charles Dickens.

Winners on the evening were ‘Gasbos’, ‘Blue Army’ and ‘I’ll have a P please Bob’. Bringing up the rear were the ‘Chancers’.

In an interval following the first two rounds, teams and their supporters were able to partake of an excellent bowl of curry. There was also a raffle, with prizes of bottles of bubbly and chocolates.

The evening raised a little under £200 to go towards the 2012 Enderby Fete.
