Leicestershire County Council Highways have given notice of introducing measures to assist traffic flow in Enderby.
The move comes following prolonged dialogue between Enderby Parish Council and Leicestershire County Council following representations made to the Parish Council to do something about some of the areas traffic ‘black spots’.
In a Statement of Effect, Leicestershire County Council says it has received reports from the Parish Council concerning congestion experienced on Townsend Road, Enderby. After assessing the situation, it is proposed to introduce (one way traffic only) on the approach to George Street, Enderby in order to provide safer access and egress for vehicles, and a safer environment for pedestrians and other road users.
No waiting at any time parking restrictions have also been requested on Townsend Road outside the new Adult Learning Centre to replace the current School keep clear markings.
No waiting at any time parking restrictions have also been proposed on Kipling Drive junction with West Street and a small section on Shortridge Lane junction with West Street, in order to provide safer access and egress for vehicles, and a safer environment for pedestrians and other road users.
A copy of the proposed Orders, together with plans illustrating the proposals and an
explanatory statement giving the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield,
Leicester LE3 8RA at the offices of Blaby District Council, Desford Road, Leicester LE19 2EP and at the offices of Enderby Parish Council, Civic Centre, King Street, Enderby, Leicester LE19 4NT.
