People are being invited to take part in games of human table football at Jubilee Park tomorrow (Tuesday July 27).
The event has been organised as part of Love Parks Week with a family session from 4-6pm (for children aged five and over) and a later game from 7-9pm for youngsters aged 14 and over.
Human table football is a life size version of the popular pub game where two teams of five compete in a large inflatable arena strapped to poles.
Love Parks Week takes place between from July 24 - August 1 and aims to raise awareness of the importance of Britain’s parks and green spaces and the central role that parks play in communities across the country.
Jubilee Park is off Blaby Road in Enderby. Sessions cost £1 per person.
Bug hunting, family yoga and streetdance sessions are just some of the activities taking place at Fosse Meadows on July 29 as part of Love Parks Week.
The free family fun day has been organised by Blaby District Council and will begin at 10.30am with the official opening of £50,000 worth of play equipment installed as part of a Big Lottery grant to attract children to the countryside.
Councillor Karl Coles, portfolio holder for health and community services at the Council said:
“We have some beautiful parks and open spaces in Blaby district and I would urge people to take some time out with the family to go and enjoy them.
“This week is all about getting people to experience the benefits of being outdoors and the positive affect it can have on their health and family life."
From 10.45am -11.30am physical activity officers from the Council will be hosting multi sports games for children from 0-5 years old and families are invited to take a picnic for lunch.
Fosse Meadows is located near Sharnford off the B4114. Activities are taking place from 10.30am–2.30pm.
