Unusual event at Enderby Library

Children can be kept entertained and educated at the same time this summer thanks to a host of fun activities at libraries in the Blaby area.

Activities include several free story-based workshops run by Explore Learning.

These fun literacy workshops are designed to encourage children to read, write and use their imagination and creativity.

The libraries are also holding story times, and one very unusual event at Enderby Library.

"A Dog In The Library" features a speaker from the Blue Cross and her friendly Great Dane, George, who will help teach young children how to be good pet owners.

There is also the libraries' free cosmic summer reading challenge for children, Space Hop, which can be enjoyed at any time in any library throughout the holidays.

You can contact your library in advance to guarantee your place for these events, or turn up on the day to see what is available.
