Play equipment costing £50,000 has been added to a nature park in a bid to attract children to the countryside.

Blaby District Council have installed balancing blocks, wobble logs, a climbing frame, willow maze and camp fire area at Fosse Meadows Nature Park as part of a Big Lottery funded project.

The trail is designed to lead children through a nature area where they can rest and play while enjoying the park’s wildlife.

Councillor Karl Coles, health and community services portfolio holder at the Council said:

“This is a fantastic scheme that will be of lasting benefit to young people as they enjoy and hopefully regularly visit not only Fosse Meadows, but the countryside around where they live and really get to understand their environment.”

Fosse Meadows is located near Sharnford and signposted from the B4114.
