Bridge works on Enderby Road, Whetstone

A temporary 20mph speed restriction will be imposed on Enderby Road in order that contractors can demolish a railway bridge and rebuild it.

The project is part of Network Rail's £53m plan to increase headroom on the line from Felixtowe to Nuneaton.

The work will mean the line can carry larger freight trains in use in other parts of Europe.

The speed restriction on the B582 at Whetstone will start at the end of this month and is scheduled to last until March 31, 2011.

Similar bridge works are due to take place in other parts of the county.
