Summer scheme in Huncote to help parents through school holidays

18 May 2010

A holiday scheme offering sports and arts activities to youngsters while their parents are at work is being run from the Pavilion in Huncote from July 19 to August 27.

The club, for children aged 5-14, is open Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm with the option of a late leaver (5pm) or early starter club (8am), and costs only £35 per child for a week, with a discount for siblings.

Youngsters attending the club can take part in a range of sports, games and arts and crafts activities including BMX, swimming (over 8’s only), squash, badminton, football, trampolining and dance.

Clare Smith, duty manager at the Pavilion said:

“The idea is to provide a structured day for the kids while at the same time giving them as much choice as possible in picking what activities they want to do.

“For local mums and dads this is a cheap childcare option and one where they know their child will be safe and having a fun, healthy time.”

All members of staff will be fully qualified and CRB checked and the Pavilion is registered with Ofsted so parents may be able to claim towards childcare costs.

The holiday club costs £8 per day per child or £35 for a week, their is an additional charge of £1 for each late leaver or early starter club and children should bring their own lunch as only refreshments will be provided.
