A young man from Enderby has landed a prestigious job at one of the world's most famous high-class hotels.
22yr old Jack Day started work this week as a chef de partie at the Ritz, in London.
Jack, who will now be responsible for food supplies is reported in local media as saying:
"It's what I've been dreaming of. I've been cooking since I was seven and my dad, Keith, is a chef too and he taught me a lot.
"Now I've got a place at the Ritz I hope to work my way up and get to the stage where I can create dishes.
"Designing recipes is something I've always liked doing in my spare time."
The former Lutterworth Grammar School pupil left school at 15 and worked at the Michelin-starred Hambleton Hall, near Rutland Water.
He has also worked as a canape chef at the Marriott hotel, in Fosse Park.
