People interested in leading walks in their community are being offered a day of free training by health experts to give them practical advice on how to structure their strolls.
The walk leader training has been organised by Blaby District Council and aims to get more people enjoying walks in their local area, while getting fit at the same time.
Victoria Smith, health improvement officer at the Council, said:
"Walking is a great way to stay fit and get in shape.
"We will teach walk leaders how to set a pace and tailor walks to suit the people taking part in them."
The course, which includes a free lunch, is being held on Friday 5th March from 10am-3pm at the Pavilion Leisure Centre in Huncote.
