Organisations Commit to an Even Better Quality of Life

12 May 2008

Enderby residents, together with residents in other areas within the District should benefit from 'Blaby Together' the main public, private and voluntary sector partnership for improving the quality of life in Blaby District.

The partnership has signed up to an ambitious programme of work to make the District an even better place in which to live, work and enjoy leisure time.

The programme of work is covered in the District's "Sustainable Community Strategy" which has a Vision that:

"In 2026 Blaby will be made up of thriving sustainable, safe, healthy, fair and secure communities, where people are happy to live and work."

Blaby Together wants "Blaby District to be known for:

  • Its clean, attractive and sustainable environment
  • The contribution of its children and young people
  • Having safe, strong and healthy communities
  • Providing high quality responsive, efficient and valued public services"

Commenting on the programme, Cllr Ted Webster-Williams, Chair of Blaby Together said,

"Through working in partnership, Blaby District Council, the Police, Voluntary Action Blaby District, the Leicestershire and Rutland County Primary Care Trust and other key service providers have come together to plan work for an even better quality of life in our District.

"This joined-up approach means we can better target our resources on areas of need and local priorities.

"Our commitment is for a better future for people not just in this District, but also in terms of our contribution to an improved quality of life in the County and further a field."
