Enderby Twinning Association Le Haillan trip 2008

Members of Enderby Twinning Association enjoyed yet another successful visit to its twinned town, Le Haillan, S.W.France, in April.

They were entertained by the Mayor and Town Council with dinner and dancing and a presentation was made to Ken Thomas, there on behalf of the Parish Council, to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the formal signing of the twinning agreement.

We need never again apologise for English weather as rain, wind and even hail were all experienced during the long weekend there!

Fortunately, the visit to the historic naval dockyard at Rochefort, on the Saturday, took place on a wonderfully sunny day, a great relief to those members whose families had organised picnics.

The first cases of sunburn for the year were recorded.

Of course, no visit would be complete without an excursion to a chateau to sample the Bordeaux wines.

At the farewell lunch featuring a menu from the French Antilles and a cabaret of drumming and dancers, the Chairman of the Twinning Association, Julia Pritchard, took the opportunity to thank the hosts for their generosity and hospitality and to invite them to England in 2009.

Anyone who would like more information about joining the association is welcome to call: Tel 0116 284 1978

Anyone know of a work placement?

The Twinning Association are looking for a 4-6 month, paid, work placement for a 22year old Frenchmen who wishes to improve his English and, if possible, his marketing and sales skills.

If anyone knows of a suitable position we would be very grateful to hear from you on: Tel 0116 284 1978.
