Everards Brewery has been crowned 'Pub Company of the Year' for the second year running in one of the pub industry's leading annual awards ceremonies.
The company triumphed in the category for tenanted/leased companies with 20 - 199 outlets at the Publican Awards, which recognises excellence across the licensed trade.
Comedians Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins were the hosts at the Grosvenor House event, known as the Oscars of the pub world, as 19 awards were handed out to the cream of the UK’s licensees and pub companies.
Chairman Richard Everard said:
"To win 'Pub Company of the Year' at the Publican Awards is a great achievement: to win two years in a row is amazing.
"Our vision is to support great people to run great pubs and to have our efforts recognised by our peers for the second year running is fantastic.
"This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff to supporting our licensees, whether through producing top quality ales, providing business support or maintaining Everards pubs to the highest standard."
The Judges at The Publican said:
"This company is impressive in every way. It has introduced key innovations that make it stand out from the crowd.
"It evaluates everything it does and has a great management team"
Richard continues:
"This awards adds to what has been a successful year for Everards, with our Cyclops tasting notes now being used by 57 breweries and our website winning Best Use of Electronic Media at the Society of Independent Brewers Awards"
The categories at the Publican Awards have undergone a change since last year (2007) with the introduction of the 20 - 199 pub category in the tenanted/leased section.
Last year Everards won the 100+ outlets category.
