03 March 2008

Manga Café, the casual group which meets at Enderby Library on a Saturday afternoon once a month, is changing the time of its sessions.
The group has become so popular that from the next meeting on March 29th the timing of Manga Café is changing to 1-2pm.
This allows the group to meet while the library is closed, giving more space.
The sessions are a chance for fans of all ages to get together over a drink to chat about the books and films they love.
Anyone is welcome to come along even if they aren’t library members.
Join them at one of the next sessions:
Manga are Japanese (or Japanese style) graphic novels, whilst animé are Japanese animated films or series.
Manga, literally translated, means "whimsical pictures" and the word 'Anime' is usually used only to refer to animated programming of a Japanese 'cartoon' style which originated in Tokyo around 1930.
At each group members decide what to do in future sessions.
For example, the group decided to put together a newsletter/magazine with reviews and pictures, and to try to learn some Japanese together.
