Enderby Danemill Primary School needs your vote!

Voting begins in Leicester Mercury 'Sing for your School' competition

As we reported in October, Enderby Danemill Primary School is among a number of schools taking part in the Leicester Mercury's Sing for your School competition.

The youngsters are hoping their performances of Christmas music puts them at the top of the class.

They join hundreds of children at schools across the County taking part in the competition which gives children the chance to perform Christmas carols and win prizes for themselves and their school.

Described as an 'X Factor-style' event, the competition is split into two categories - primary and secondary.

The Leicester Mercury competition has the backing of Leicester and Leicestershire Education Authorities. 112 schools are taking part and over 180 vidoes have been uploaded to the Leicester Mercury website.

The winning choirs in both categories will get a £5,000 prize, while the two runners-up will get £1,000.

The two winning choirs will be featured on BBC Radio Leicester's "Sing Christmas" live broadcast on Thursday, December 18.

To make the competition even more special, a souvenir "Sing for Your School" supplement, featuring all of the schools taking part in the contest, will be published inside the Leicester Mercury on Monday, November 17th.

You can find a voting form printed inside the Leicester Mercury every day. All you have to do is go online (see links below) - watch the videos and then vote for your favourites by sending in a form.

People may vote as many times as they like, (but no photocopied forms will be accepted).

Votes must be in by Monday, December 1st.
