People in Blaby district can get instant updates on their refuse and recycling service in the event of severe weather this winter by following the Council on twitter (@blabydc), facebook(facebook.com/blabydc) or visiting www.blaby.gov.uk/severe-weather.
The Council spends months preparing for the harsh winter weather so services can continue but there are times when it is too dangerous for crews to go out and collections are affected.
Daily updates on all services will be posted on the Council’s twitter and facebook pages if the snow and ice does set in.
Councillor David Clements, portfolio holder for corporate services said:
Severe weather can be stressful for many people so we want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to find out how their services are running this winter.
