New employment support in Blaby District

Posted on January 27, 2017February 6, 2017 by staff

A brand new service to help give residents in the District of Blaby the tools to progress towards employment is now available.

Employment Support now offers local residents the opportunity to build confidence and find work.

The team of two experienced support workers have already succeeded in helping several people gain interviews and jobs.

The service offers a ‘one stop shop’ at Blaby District Council with Benefits, Community Services and Citizen’s Advice Bureau all under one roof.

The team help to create tailored CV’s, covering letters and filling in application forms.

Dee Warren, one of the Employment and Support Workers, said:

“We offer a very different experience to the Job Centre as we have a more supportive voluntary service for as long as is needed, including in work support to help sustain employment.

“We are also happy to help people who are in work, especially those looking for more hours or a change of job, and anyone not on benefits.”
