MP welcomes cash for potholes

road potholeLeicestershire has been allocated £1,491,977 for local road repair, a move welcomed by the MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston, Sir Edward Garnier.

Writing on his website, the MP said potholes damage cars and disrupt journeys.

“The £168 million that was announced in the budget for England will be allocated through a bid based Fund, with further guidance on the application process published in the coming weeks.
“Introducing competition to the process will help drive efficiency and I hope that Leicestershire County Council submits a strong application for funding.”

During the coming months a number of areas in Enderby and Blaby District are to be the subject of carriageway maintenance.
