Motorcyclist dies in collision in Braunstone

collision investigation vanA Thorpe Astley motorcyclist has died following a road traffic collision in Braunstone.

The collision happened at around 1.20pm on Friday February 20 on Withers Way around 250 metres from the roundabout junction with Meridian Way.

It involved a green Suzuki Bandit motorcycle and a black Vauxhall Zafira.

The motorcyclist, Mr Barry Carl O’Hare (38) of Thorpe Astley sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Detective Constable Seamus Burns, the investigating officer, said:

“Both vehicles were traveling from the direction of Meridian Way at the time of the collision.

“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to please contact us with any information they have.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the relevant officer on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message and when prompted, key in the officer’s identification number.
