Man fined for throwing cigarette from car

Posted on March 2, 2012 by staff

A smoker who threw his cigarette butt out of a car window has been fined £290.

Mohammed Khan of Hawes Road, Walsall, was travelling through Narborough on the B4114 in August last year when a member of staff from Blaby District Council saw him throw his cigarette from the passenger’s window.

Environmental health officers sent a £75 fixed penalty notice to Kahn’s address but he failed to pay or contact the Council.

The case went to Leicester Magistrates Court on 3rd February 2012 where Kahn was convicted in absence and ordered to pay the fine within 14 days.
