Local businesses successfully secure funding

Posted on May 29, 2014 by staff

Grove ParkNine local businesses have so far secured over £500k of grant funding from the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership, creating and safeguarding over 100 jobs in the district.

The news was announced at Blaby District Council’s most recent business breakfast event, in which over 35 companies and partner organisations attended to share ideas for boosting the local economy, and hear about the latest funding opportunities and training incentives.

The meeting included a brief speaker programme with topics on local and regional economic development news, funding programmes, the rollout of the high speed broadband programme Superfast Leicestershire, a package of support for high-growth businesses, and the opportunity to network with local businesses and partner organisations.

Rob Back, Planning, Economic Development and Housing Strategy Group Manager at Blaby District Council, said:

“The Council is running these events for the benefit of local businesses.

“They are an excellent opportunity to network with local businesses and to discover what support is available from the Council and its partner organisations. We recognise that our local businesses can benefit from support and encourage them to get in touch to find out more.”

Regional Growth Fund 3 funding from the LLEP is still available, as well as other schemes which may benefit small to medium sized enterprises within the district.

The Council is developing a programme of business networking and information sharing events with the next one planned to run in September.
