Light switch-on brings traditional Christmas to Blaby

Posted on November 22, 2011November 27, 2011 by staff

Christmas celebrations begin in Blaby this week with a traditional market on Friday (November 25) followed by Miss Blaby turning on the town’s festive lights at Johns  Court shopping precinct.

The market opens at 11am followed by the big switch on at 6.30pm and late night shopping with mince pies and mulled wine for afters.

Real reindeers will also be paying a flying visit to the town with Santa Claus and his elves to complete the festive atmosphere with music from Enderby Youth Band.

Face painting, balloon modelling and lots more activities will be on offer for youngsters at the BB19 youth bus while families can enjoy a hog roast and children can keep warm on the bouncy castle.

The event has been organised by Blaby Parish Council in partnership with Blaby District Council.
