Life is too short, so I’m doing what I love most

Posted on March 24, 2012July 31, 2017 by staff

Sarah Greenbury is the proud owner of one of the latest additions to the business scene in Enderby.

Her hair salon, IMAGES located at 2a Cross Street – premises formerly occupied by Angel Hair, opened for business at the beginning of March.

Sarah is no newcomer to the hairdressing industry. During the past 18 years she gained a variety of experience, including 7 years Teaching Hairdressing at Loughborough College and 10 years of Mobile Hairdressing around Leicestershire.

Sarah likes to think of her clientel as a ‘family’ and is keen for her business venture to integrate into the Enderby community by having local residents join her existing list of clients who visit her new Enderby salon from a far wider area.

Speaking to Enderby EYE, Sarah said that part of the drive to ‘bite the bullet’ and open her salon in Enderby was when a relative became seriously ill – underlining the adage that “life’s too short” and to realise your dreams you have to act.

She told us

In July just before I did the Race for Life my Uncle was told he had his 3rd dose of Cancer, but this time there was no more they could do. My son Harry asked me ‘Why did I want to raise money if he was going to die anyway?’ I explained my Uncle had had two other types in the last 11 years and wouldn’t have survived this long without the treatment and research.

Harry then said he wanted to help too, so we looked at doing our own event. As 10 years of business was something we wanted to celebrate, it seemed the perfect opportunity to have a Charity Party. We set the date and managed to sell over 200 tickets and collect over £1000 worth of raffle prizes.

On Friday 17th Feb we had our Party at The King Power Stadium (Leicester City Football Club) with over 150 clients, family and friends. We had an amazing time and managed to raise £1531.00 for Cancer Research. The support we received was overwhelming.

Sarah goes on to remark that in her 10 years of business she has been a part of so many lives – and each of their experiences with cancer left a mark on her. Loosing yet another member of her family gave Sarah the drive to organise her first event and has also been a major part of her decision to open her first Salon.

As Sarah is quick to point out …life is too short, so she’s doing what she loves most.

There’s an opportunity to view the new salon on Sunday 29th April 2012 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm as Sarah holds an Open Day with the invitation to “…come and meet us, get to know us and discuss your hairdressing needs”.
