Steve Walsh: His book ’50 Shades of Blue’ will be raffled on the night

Christmas celebrations in Blaby this year will see Steve Walsh, former Leicester City football legend, turning on the village’s festive lights at Johns Court shopping precinct.

The big switch on will take place on Friday November 28 at 6.30pm, which will be followed by late night shopping until 8pm. There will also be free parking all day in council car parks.

Steve has also kindly donated a signed copy of his latest book ’50 Shades of Blue’ which will be raffled on the night and all of the proceeds donated to this year’s nominated charity Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Christmas celebrations start at 9am with a festive Farmers’ Market in the main street. Then from 5pm come and try out the new ice skating rink, just £2 a go.

There’s also the chance to meet Disney’s Frozen characters Elsa and Olaf in Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, meet Santa and his reindeer and collect your free Christmas gift, a Christmas craft tent, street musicians, fun fair rides, bouncy castle, hog roast, hot dogs, burgers, and doughnut stands.

For more information contact Vicki Jepson, Blaby Parish Manager at clerk@blabyparishcouncil.org or call 0116 278 4728.
