Landlords to get tips on housing topics

Posted on October 31, 2011November 27, 2011 by staff

Landlords and letting agents are being invited to an information event to get advice from housing professionals on a number of hot topics in the industry.

The forum, which is free to attend, will include seminars by the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA), the National Landlords Association (NLA), Buckles Solicitors LLP and M Cubed Chartered Accountants.

The sessions will offer advice and information on legal pitfalls that landlords can avoid, investing in properties, the green deal, tax planning opportunities, training for landlords and changes to the Local Housing Allowance which came into effect this year.

Staff from Blaby District Council’s housing benefit and decent homes teams will also be attending the forum to give advice.

The event will take place on November 16 at the Westfield House Hotel in Blaby and has been split up into two sessions from 1pm-5pm and 6pm-9pm.

Blaby District Council have organised the forum in partnership with Harborough District Council and Oadby and Wigston Borough Council and landlords or lettings agents with properties in any of the three local authority areas are invited to attend.

Places are limited. To book a place contact the Council’s housing options team on 0116 272 7770 or email housing.options@blaby.gov.uk.
