24yr old Fraser Weightman from Thorpe Astley has taken gold at the ISKA world amateur championships in Holland
Weightman secured his ISKA (International Sport Kickboxing Association) victory over Turkish contender and European star Ibrahim Karakoc in the heavyweight final.
A report in the Leicester Mercury says Weightman “…shook up Karakoc in the first round and handed him a standing count in the last on the way to a wide points win.”
Leicester Kickboxing Club coach Jag Johal told the newspaper:
“Fraser deserves this success.
“He wants to be the best, so he trains all the time. The day after the final, he wanted to go to a gym in Holland, but it was closed.
“I was pleased because I wanted a break, but Fraser just wants to train all the time.”
