Have your say on waste site redevelopment

There’s still time for people to have their say on plans to redevelop Whetstone Recycling and Household Waste Site (RHWS).

How the new Whetstone RHWS may look

The County Council proposals include giving the site a modern makeover by creating a new waste disposal area, which will include easy access skips, for the public to use.

The project also aims to improve access for vehicles to help reduce congestion and includes the building of a new waste transfer site.

People can have their say on the plans by completing an online survey at www.leics.gov.uk/wastesite_whetstone or by visiting a roadshow at Blaby Farmers’ Market (Blaby Social Centre car park, Leicester Road) between 9am and 1pm on Saturday (May 26).

Comments can also be made at information stands at Blaby District Council’s offices and the Blaby District Council Shared Services Shop at Forge Corner, Blaby, until Sunday June 17.

People who do not have access to the internet, or who are not able to attend the roadshow, can call 0116 3058389 or email waste.projects@leics.gov.uk for more information on the proposals.
