Have a say on how to spend £15,000 in your area!

Posted on October 6, 2011November 27, 2011 by staff
£15,000 will be available to Blaby Central Forum

Leicestershire residents are being urged to take part in their local community forum to help decide how a £320,000 people power fund should be spent.

The county council is providing up to £15,000 for each of the 25 forums across the county, to help communities invest in local improvements of their choice.

The last round funded 150 projects, including a new youth café, a mobile cinema and defibrillators for villages.

The council is looking for projects that can be delivered between January and June 2012.

Decisions must be taken over the next couple of months.

Nick Rushton, Cabinet champion for the Big Society, said:

We want people to come forward and help to decide how this money should be spent to improve their areas.
