Hare catching and the Hallaton Treasure in Blaby Libraries

Cooking, surfing and treasure hunting are topics library users can learn more about in Blaby over Adult Learners’ Week next week.

In a special presentation at on the discovery of the famous Hallaton Treasure, Ken and Hazel Wallace, members of the Hallaton Fieldwork Group will share their experiences in uncovering this amazing find.

This fascinating talk takes place at Cosby Library on Wednesday 18th May between 7pm and 8pm and costs £2 (refreshments included). Tickets can be booked at Cosby Library or by calling 0116 3058764.

At the same time and on the same day at Enderby Library there will be a look back at cooking methods over the last few hundred years, in a talk entitled First Catch Your Hare. This also costs £2 with refreshments included, and tickets can be booked at Enderby Library or by calling 0116 3053523.

There is also the opportunity to learn about getting online for people who have yet to do so, with a special Silver Surfers day at Blaby Library on Friday May 20th . These sessions are free and are meant to teach people the basics of the web. Various times are available, call the library on 0116 3053516 for more information or to book a place.

Leicestershire County Council’s Adult Learning Service will be hosting events in libraries across the county as part of this national event, which lasts from Saturday 14th May until Friday 20th May.
