There are three types of grant available to help develop or improve services for local people – Capital Grants up to £5000, Revenue Grants up to £500, and Staying Healthy Grants up to £1000.
Each grant is designed to help with different costs such as building works, equipment purchase, venue or transport costs or one-off special events. We can provide advice on which grant is most suitable for your group or organisation’s needs.
Successful applicants from the last round of grants included Blaby & Glen Parva Community Service, Whetstone Drama Group, Stoney Stanton Evergreens, Sapcote Heritage Group and Huncote Parish Council.
Cllr David Freer, portfolio holder for Partnerships and Corporate Service at Blaby District Council, said:
“It’s a pleasure being involved in the grants scheme and hearing about the difference community groups and organisations can make in our local communities.
“Times are challenging for public services so it’s particularly important that we continue to support the vital work of our voluntary and community sector wherever possible. Even relatively small amounts of money can make a huge difference in improving the quality of life for our residents, particularly the most vulnerable.”
The deadline for the next round of grants is Friday 28 November 2014.
