077-commbus-project-community-transport-in-blaby-districtIf you are a community group or organisation providing services in Blaby District, you may be eligible to apply for a grant from the Council.

There are three types of grant available to help develop or improve services for local people – Capital Grants up to £5000, Revenue Grants up to £500, and Staying Healthy Grants up to £1000.

Each grant is designed to help with different costs such as building works, equipment purchase, venue or transport costs or one-off special events. We can provide advice on which grant is most suitable for your group or organisation’s needs.

The last round of grants awarded a total of £14,078 and successful applicants included Leicester Forest Rugby Club, Thurlaston Community Group and Leicester Sharks Swimming Club.

Applications for community grants are accepted quarterly and the next deadline is Friday 27 February 2015, 12pm.

Groups that have received a grant within the last two years are not eligible to apply and priority will be given to groups who are new to apply and focus on the Council’s key objectives of Children & Young People, The Environment, Safety, Strength & Health of the Community, and Valued Public Services within the Community.

For more information and to request an application pack, please contact the Grants Co-ordinator at bmh@blaby.gov.uk or call 0116 272 7718.
