On Saturday 16th April the cycling arena at Everyone Active at Enderby Leisure Centre was renamed the Terry Wootton Cycle Arena in memory of a local man.
Karen Wootton, Terry’s wife and also the fitness manager at Everyone Active at Enderby Leisure Centre, was on hand to unveil the plaque.
This coincided with a fundraising event where members paid to participate in special classes in the morning, a cake sale was held in the reception area and a local company called Pink Confetti were selling handbags, shoes and accessories with 15% of the proceeds going to the nominated charity, LOROS Hospice.
In the afternoon Terry’s bikes were auctioned off, raising a phenomenal £800.
With the contributions from members and staff (who donated their pay for the day), proceeds from Pink Confetti and the cake sale a massive £2000 was raised on the day for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice in Leicester.
