Fly tipping Blaby resident caught and fined

A Blaby resident has been fined £300 after illegally dumped waste was found outside Marks and Spencer in Fosse Park.

Household waste was wrapped in a duvet cover.

Iboiya Horvath, of 10 Frankson Avenue, Braunstone Town, Leicester, was caught out after letters addressed to her at two different addresses were found amongst the rubbish, which consisted of household waste wrapped in a duvet cover.

She was invited to two interviews at Blaby District Council, but did not attend, so the case went to court on Tuesday January 22 where she pleaded guilty and was fined £300.

Councillor Guy Jackson, portfolio holder for Regulatory and Neighbourhood Services, said:

“Blaby District Council has a zero tolerance to fly tipping and will thoroughly investigate all complaints and incidents of fly tipping. This fine highlights that the offence is also serious in the eyes of the court.”
