Five people have been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison after a cash machine in Whetstone was attacked.
Ricky Gene Downes (31) of Mount Road, Cosby, Andrew Shillaw (35) of Haskell Close, Thorpe Astley, Thomas Hopkins (40) also of Haskell Close, Thorpe Astley, Everal Nelson (32) of St Marys Avenue, Leicester and Janet Taylor (49) of Woodland Drive, Leicester were sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday October 30 after being found guilty.
Downes was convicted for burglary (other than dwelling) and sentenced to six years and for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice he was sentenced to 30 months to run consecutively.
Shillaw was sentenced to two years for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and six months for an unrelated fraud offence to run consecutively.
Hopkins, Nelson and Taylor were also convicted for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Hopkins was sentenced to 12 months, Nelson received eight months and Taylor received four months.
