Shoppers in Blaby will find the Farmers’ market closer to the town centre when it moves to a new location on Saturday 27 April.
The market will be running from a section of Enderby Road car park on a trial basis as part of plans to improve the market, to make it more accessible and vibrant as well as aiming to attract more shoppers into the town centre.
The regular monthly local produce market is operated by Leics Food Links in partnership with Blaby District Council to give local people the opportunity to buy fresh local produce directly from the people who produce it.
Fresh produce on offer includes selections of meats and fish that are free range and organic, pies, bread, cake and pastries, preserves, cheese, eggs as well as plants and beer.
Carole Troake, Economic Development, Policy and Research Assistant, at Blaby District Council said:
“We are looking to make the farmers’ market better by bringing it closer to the heart of Blaby town centre so more people find it easier to get there as well as inviting different producers to take space. More shoppers can also help our local businesses and bring a welcome boost to Blaby Town Centre on market day.”
