Facing redundancy or looking for a job?

jobsA host of organisations offering support, training, skills and job vacancies have signed up to take part in an event to help those who are unemployed.

The Opportunities 4 Jobs event is taking place at Braunstone Civic Centre, Kingsway, on Tuesday May 21 and runs from 9.30am until 12 noon.

The free event aims to offer advice on training and adult education courses, starting a new business venture, benefit allowance, interview and job application skills as well as volunteering options.

•Leicestershire County Council Adult Learning Service and Apprenticeships

•Trans4m (ex Stride)
•Acorn training
•A4E (Action for Employment)
•Prospects
•South LeicsCollege
•Job Centre Plus
•Voluntary Action Leicestershire

Carole Troake, Economic Development, Policy and Research Assistant, at Blaby District Council said:

“The aim of this event is to offer a hand of support to those who are out of work including the many young people who have never had a job and need help now to find routes into work. It is completely free and I urge people to come and take a look at what help and advice is on offer.”

Limited free car parking and refreshments will be available.
